Well it’s been an interesting 18 months being a wedding photographer, weddings have been few and far between. So it was really nice to end 2021 with this beauty of a wedding.
St Johns House in Lichfield.
Sarah and Jerome had exclusive use of St Johns House – a 17th century regency house, which has been restored to a high standard. This meant I could spend time easily photographing them both whilst they got ready. Both were equally relaxed during prep which was just the way they wanted it. After so much time recently being restricted Sarah and Jerome really wanted their wedding day to be a chance for everyone to get together. It was lovely that they had the venue to themselves with their family around them.
Wedding ceremony.
A wedding ceremony at St Johns House has a very intimate feeling about it, surrounded by family and friends Sarah and Jermone enjoyed personal readings, excited young flower girls and a registrar who got his names confused!
Evening reception.
As a surprise the couple had booked magician, Owen Strickland. His close up tricks entertained and confused every guest I saw him with! This also made for some great photo opportunities. Rather than have a formal sit down wedding breakfast, the newlyweds went for small bowls of food that were served to their wedding guests whilst they relaxed and chatted in groups. All in all it was a great last wedding of the year.
