As a Staffordshire wedding photographer I’ve captured more ceremonies at Stafford Registry Office than anywhere else in the county. In fact, I’ve photographed so many weddings there, I’ve forgotten how many in total. The registration office is located in the Judges Chambers or County Buildings, in the heart of Stafford town center. Tucked away in a little corner the very lovely drawing room provides a great place for a wedding ceremony.
Taking photographs in the same place you think would be boring, but actually enjoy every wedding there that I’ve taken my cameras to. Each set of newly married couples photos are also different, the joy of working with couples from different backgrounds, or different ages and who have a different approach to their wedding, even though the ceremony is being held in the same place. Getting to take photos in and around Stafford is always interesting and depending on the time of year can result in totally different wedding photos.
Busra and Gary got married at the registry office in March and we were treated to some full on sunshine and even a bit of warmth, – probably mother nature giving us a taste of what was to come for the rest of the year! They opted for a civil ceremony rather than a marriage ceremony, keeping things modern, simple and practical. As Busras family were unable to make the legal ceremony, they joined by a group video call on a phone used by a friend, I even managed to include them in the photos.
After the ceremony guests threw confetti and we did some family group photos before heading down Stafford high street to the park, where we found a magnificent magnolia tree in full bloom, the newly weds also found a bench to sit and chill on for five in the Spring sunshine. I’ll never tire of posting photos from their wedding on my socials as there’s something effortlessly stylish about them both, resulting in a fantastic set of wedding photos. Busra had a simple wedding dress but the lace on her arms made it something unique and Gary in his double breasted pin stripe suit, together they nailed the classic cool look, finished off with sunglasses!
Getting married at Stafford registry office doesn’t have to mean going big or all out. Gary and Busra were joined by just a handful of guests, who then went on to the Post House to enjoy wedding cake, food and drinks.
