Wedding with alternative fairground games.
There’s always a bit of ‘down time’ during a wedding. For guests who were there to watch you say the “I do’s”, during that in-between bit, seems to be the time when they hit the bar or nip back to their room before the evening shenanigans kick in. Now if your wedding is being held on a cider farm(which on a separate note, makes amazing cider), in the middle of the Shropshire countryside and there are no rooms for your friends and family to have a sneaky power nap in, you start to think outside the box a little.
Kate and Alun did things their way when it came to their wedding day, it was probably one of the weddings that was closest to what I would want to achieve if I ever get married. Relaxed, alternative and had a great vibe. – Part of that came from how Alun and Kate had thought about ways to include everyone. There was den building for the little people, enough food to sink a small ship (all of which was ferried from the kitchen to the barn by lot’s of willing friends and family) and fairground games – which certainly kept people entertained.
Natural wedding photography.
When I take photos at weddings I aim to capture things that when you look back through them, you can get the feeling of the day or of that particular moment. There are so many moments during the day and for the couple whose wedding it is, it’s impossible to see everything that is going on. That’s why I will float (not literally unfortunately) around, spying out different scenes and watching them, (I can often pick up on where something is about to happen) ready for that moment when I get to click my camera. I also look for where I can show energy and fun in my images. This picture I think ticks both those boxes. I love the concentration on the guests face, how that even though I am stood pretty close to her with quite a big camera, she is still totally engrossed in the game she is playing and hasn’t taken her eyes off it.
