Black and white wedding photo of confetti

East Riddlesden Hall wedding.

This photo was taken at a wedding at the very lovely East Riddlesden Hall in Yorkshire. You can get married in the Grade ii listed barn which has gorgeous oak beams and fairy lights – can’t go wrong really can you?! By getting married there you are also helping the National Trust look after the place for future generations. Win win situation I think!

Natural wedding photography.

A big reason lot’s of couples book me to photograph their weddings is that they want natural photos. Quite often the couple have told me that they are ‘no good at photos’ or that they don’t like having their photo taken, (neither do I) so most of the pictures that I will take won’t involve any posing and quite often I get comments back from the bride or groom, that they hadn’t even noticed me taking some of the pictures.

I think that’s partly the reason I love this image. Even though I was stood quite close, (that’s a thing I do a lot but it’s not as bad as it sounds honest) no-one in the picture is looking at me, meaning this is the real, natural moment.

I also love it because there is so much going on within it. I love how Dan (the groom) doesn’t look too impressed at how he now has confetti in his drink. I love how Katie (the bride) is looking at where the confetti has landed in her dress. I love how Dan’s Grandma is still holding onto her, (now empty) cone and that the lady behind her is trying to take it off her.
