dad making son laugh

Staffordshire newborn photography fun.

Having been a Staffordshire wedding photographer for over eight years, recently it’s been nice to work with couples and families in a different way.

Having a new arrival join the family is exciting and those tiny toes don’t stay tiny for long! Getting to capture this as a photographer is amazing. Little people change so fast, having me there to take some photos in those early days, keeps the memories forever.

My approach for photographing a newborn, is very similar to how I would take photos at a wedding. I am very relaxed – something I learnt in a previous life working with children of all ages and abilities. Let children be children and have me capture their personailities, their laugh and their energy. I don’t pose anything when it comes to my newborn photography. If I did, I wouldn’t get a set of photos like these!

Having taken photos of Rory two and a half years ago, I was so pleased when Corrine and Matt got in touch to ask if I could take some of their new little one, Leo. To say Rory was a little excited during the session, is probably an understatement, but those are the photos I love to take, so it wored perfectly! In fact, the last photo in this set is probably one of my favourites. I know Corrine loves it and for me, without using any words it completely sums up what I do in one photograph.

Priceless.

I’m getting to quite enjoy this newborn photography now! Have a spy at another shoot I did here.
