Corine got in touch with me after she asked for recommendations for a wedding photographer on a VW Facebook group, she also hates having her photo taken, needless to say we hit it off straight away!
Corine and Darcy were getting married at Leicester Town Hall, a lovely Grade 2 listed building and a venue I’ve photographed several other weddings at. Slap bang in the middle of Leicester and in 2023 was voted the best place to live and work in the East Midlands. Being just over an hour away, taking wedding photos in the largest city in the East Midlands makes for some great urban shots.
With having a young family and being in the process of converting a van into a camper, the couples priority for their wedding photos were family groups and photos of just the two of them. I created a bespoke photography package especially for them and in the couple of hours we were together I managed to capture all the wedding photos that were important to the newly married couple.
Following their relaxed civil ceremony at the Town Hall, confetti was thrown and then as close friends and family headed to Turtle Bay for drinks, we took a slow walk through the city for some relaxed, unposed portraits.
As wedding outfits go I personally loved the trouser suit the bride chose to wear, so simple yet elegant, a great alternative to a traditional wedding dress.
When we had first spoken Corine had told me that she hates having her photo taken and always feels awkward in photos. My relaxed approach and unposed style of wedding photography worked perfectly. By focusing on each other, rather than me taking photos, the couple were able to relax and be themselves, resulting in some wonderful wedding memories.
