albums

I can probably count on one hand, in ten years the number of albums I’ve produced for couples after photographing their wedding day. This blog post will hopefully change that.

When I first started out on my wedding photography journey over 10 years ago, the wedding album market was full of Italian, American and Australian album producers, all charging a small fortune for an album. I hated the idea of using a company from abroad and so I spent ages searching for a company who made them in the UK. I also wanted the end product to be quality but not cost an arm and a leg. In the end I found Folio. Everything they produce is handmade in Yorkshire at their workshop. They make sure every album is truly special.

But why even bother having an album?

All of my wedding photography work is focused around my couples, it is driven by their needs and wants, so I’ve never included an album in my cost. I understand how expensive weddings are and how little money people have for ‘luxuries’. Saying that, I’ve had plenty of couples say to me that they want an album, but never get round to ordering one. Going back to when I first started I sent out my wedding galleries on a usb, now they’re all in online digital galleries – which I recommend couples making a copy of, but how often have you had a usb drive fail on you? I know I have! USBs are also, pretty easy to loose. My current Macbook doesn’t even have a usb port on it.

There’s actually nothing that beats a beautiful, creative album. Something physical that you can sit down and look at with future generations. Technology changes and always will, a physical, print album will not.

Whenever I have designed an album, again it’s always with my couples in mind, I want to show off their wedding day with the beautiful photos I’ve taken. Any album design is a collaborative process which we can do together, nothing is sent to print without your go ahead.

With all that said I’m currently offering 10% off all albums until the end of Feb ’25.
