Relaxed, rustic and stylish is how Hanbury barns wedding venue in Staffordshire describes itself, three words that are exactly up my street, so getting to visit this beautiful venue again for the wedding of Bec and Dan was a great day at work being a Staffordshire wedding photographer!
As a photographer at Hanbury it’s a sensational Staffordshire venue to take photos at, the countryside setting, dedicated spaces for different areas of your wedding and a bright, beautiful barn for your wedding breakfast. Bec and Dan were really able to make the most of their wedding day at Hanbury barns getting to use all of the spaces for their wedding celebration.
You might recognise these pair from a previous blog post I did on their wedding on the stunning Isles of Scilly nearly a year ago. Only a handful of very close family attended their legal ceremony on St Marys, so they booked Hanbury barns for a celebration that all their friends and family could attend.
I joined Dan and his crew at their Airbnb for a quick catch up and a few photos then I headed over to Bec who was getting ready with her girls in the dressing room at the venue. Luckily the weather was on our side and the couple were able to have their ceremony outdoors on the raised timber pavilion, surrounded by their wedding guests in front of the lake. During the drinks reception and whilst the weather was playing ball we managed to get group photos and their couples portraits done. Drinks and photos at the same time however didn’t quite go to plan for one bridesmaid, which may, or may not have had something to do with the groom.
After spending time with Bec and Dan and their families before, in a very small and intimate way it was really special being there to photograph them celebrating their love for each other again.
For the evening reception the Woodend barn was transformed into a space to party, with cocktails, ice-creams, a band and a magic mirror, from here guests were able to spill out onto the patio area for dancing alfresco!
